It was a lot of fun collecting these vintage Tonka toys. I had a red one as a kid. I still have it, but the steering wheel has been torn off. These buggies are all from the late 60’s with the flower stickers on the hoods. I wanted create a feeling of Mexican influence on the colors and accents, while still incorporating the yellow “hippie” flowers. This is by far the most colorful sculpture I have created.
