The elephant’s head was found at a local Goodwill. Attached to a metal drum, it was a mobile of sorts. His tusks were missing and had to be recreated. There is so much expression in his eyes. The gold portion of the shrine is a section of an old frame. The piece that looks like a gear behind the elephant’s trunk is actually part of an old broken, wall sconce. The palm trees were once part of an elaborate old lamp. On top of the elephant’s head is an ornament created from a piece of silverware. In some of the photos you can see a keyhole in the wooden base. The base was created using wood from an old chest of drawers found in the trash.
