Slow Ride is a true assemblage sculpture taking parts and pieces from several articles of Americana. Starting with the chrome centerpiece which the propeller is mounted on. That’s a portion of a steering wheel from a 1950 Studebaker. The knobs below are from a vintage radio. The white ceramic knobs on top are from an old stove. The three small metallic circles are from the inside of a small clock. The two guages are from the 1940’s the one on the left was sold by Illinois Brass Manufacturing Company of Chicago. The one on the right is stamped with an inspection date of January 30, 1945.
